Southwest Michigan is rich with beautiful, charming and unique locations to host a wedding. Pristine beaches, working vineyards, historical estates and barns in idyllic settings to name a few. There are so many options to choose from, depending on how you want to frame your wedding day. However, if you are looking for a barn venue, on lush grounds, with every amenity you could imagine, then Gable Hill is a must see. When driving down the road that leads to the property, you are at once enveloped by picturesque woods that open up into a setting that feels very much like your own private hideaway. I’ve had the privilege for the past several years to be included in Gable Hill’s Open Houses, where they open the grounds up for couples and their families to explore, ask questions of the staff, and talk with hand selected vendors from the area. This year I decided to design a table that combined peachy pinks and sage with copper elements. Using one of Gable Hills farm tables, I placed a romantic ivory chiffon runner that trailed off the edges and puddled to the floor. Each place setting started with a punched copper charger plate, topped with a marbled salad plate. Layered into that was a pale coral/ pink napkin, menu card, copper flatware and sage green glassware. The center of the table held gorgeous blooms of anemone, peony and roses accented with ivory tapers in both copper and clear candles stick holders. Placed around the table were walnut cross back French country chairs, that worked beautifully with the wood color of the farm table. I had an amazing time connecting with couples and their families!
