After dating for five years, Casey finally proposed to Elizabeth on Christmas Day, 2018. Setting the date for just nine months away, they started envisioning what their wedding would look like. They wanted the day to have a relaxed yet elegant, romantic vibe, and with that in mind they chose Gable Hill Wedding Barn in Marcellus, MI . Set in the rolling countryside of Southwest Michigan with a barn and ceremony location nestled in the woods, it was the perfect place where they would begin their new life together.
They chose a soft, pastel color palette of dusty rose, sage green and ivory accented with gold. Adding flowy, sheer fabrics and an abundance of candlelight created a warm, welcoming atmosphere. After dodging raindrops most of the day – the sky cleared just in time for their ceremony, where Casey’s son, Carson, served as best man. The weather held out for the rest of the evening so guests could duck outside of the barn and jump inside a 1977 VW bus turned funky photo booth, or relax with a drink at one of two lounge areas.
Ending the day with a sparkler farewell, guests sent the new Mr. & Mrs. off to begin their happily ever after.
