One of the questions I ask on the initial worksheet I use to set up new client files is: What are your greatest worries and/or concerns about your wedding? Common responses have been things like staying on budget, or staying on schedule the day of the wedding. Maggie and Sam’s response was, and I quote ‘Well, now, I’m worried about making sure everyone stays safe from COVID.’ Not that those other issues aren’t important, they are, but having your wedding during a global pandemic adds a whole new layer of stress to the planning process. BUT, these two came through the challenges like champs! The day may not have looked the way they had originally envisioned, but honestly, in spite of everything 2020 threw their way, it was perfect nonetheless.
Maggie’s color palette consisted of a modern mix of fall colors featuring burgundy, burnt orange, rust and blush with touches of copper. Their guest favor served double duty! Hand sanitizer sourced locally from Journeyman Distillery in Three Oaks, MI. bottled apothecary style in amber glass bottles with labels that had guests name and table assignment on them – love! Not crazy about cake they chose to treat their guests instead to an ice cream cart that served up hand made, locally sourced ice cream and gelato, accompanied by chocolate bon bons and gourmet cookies. I’m positive no one missed the cake! And lets talk about their signature drink, Apple Cider Mules – the perfect fall drink, featuring cider made from freshly picked Michigan apples!
I’m so inspired by these two, and their ability to roll with everything 2020 threw their way. Their day was absolutely joyful and while COVID was a factor, it definitely did not define their day. Love did!
