Laura and Kenny first met during freshman orientation weekend at the University of Notre Dame. Within a few months their love story was set in motion when they began to date. Seven years later, after becoming engaged, they started planning their wedding where it all began, at Notre Dame. With a deep love of Notre Dame’s campus, they wanted their flowers and decor to compliment the already beautiful Basilica of the Sacred Heart and Morris Inn. They chose a color palette of cobalt blue, soft coral and ivory, with added touches of personality throughout the wedding to make it unique to them. Knowing that friends and family would be traveling long distances to attend, they created a weekend that everyone would enjoy and feel welcome. Their wish was for an atmosphere of love and joy, to see everyone smiling and excited, and above all, the wedding be a reflection of their love for one another. Once the big day finally arrived, guests gathered inside the Basilica as Laura and her Father arrived in a horse drawn carriage, that would later take the newlyweds to portrait locations around campus. Following their 11:00 am ceremony, guests enjoyed lunch at the Eck Center, after which, tours of the campus were offered. Cocktail hour began in the pre-function area just outside of the Mary Ann Smith Ballroom at the Morris Inn, with dinner and dancing soon to follow. Following the reception, everyone gathered at Rohr’s Irish Pub for an after party of pizza and happy conversation. Kenny and Laura ended their wedding weekend with a farewell brunch and wishes from their guests for the very best as they embarked on this new chapter of their lives together
