Meg was born and raised in Long Beach, IN and Nick had spent most, if not all summers at his family’s cottage there. It was the summer of 2010 that Meg remembers first meeting Nick at a beach bonfire, although Nick has never quite been able to remember that moment. Yet this was the beginning of a series of coincidental encounters, although who knows how many times Nick and Meg had crossed paths throughout their lives while both being up at the lake. They finally connected through a mutual friend (who would end up being their Maid of Honor) and the adventures haven’t stopped since. Once Nick proposed, it was settled that they would marry where their story began, along the shores of Lake Michigan.
Deciding on a color palette of black and white, with tones that were inspired by the Lake Michigan coastline, they wanted their backyard wedding to be elegant, effortless, warm and welcoming with a bit of a clean, modern touch. They wanted everyone to feel comfortable enough to talk with strangers, relax a bit and just enjoy the evening under the tent together.
